TEX THE CONTAINER HOME

One of the first things you notice as you walk into Tex the Container Home is the white panel walls. This is an alluring choice for the interior design. By keeping the wall paneling in horizontal strips, the illusion of width and length is added to the inside. On top of that, the white paint gives it a light, airy feel right off the bat.

On the far ends of the shipping container home, Kyle has utilized a rustic wood panelling that gives it that warm country cabin feel. We love the way the wood spreads out up to the ceiling and creates a cohesive look to the walls and ceilings. The matching trim is another great little detail that makes the whole interior pop.

The LED lighting in the shower does a great job of highlighting the gorgeous tile. That same wood panelling adorns the ceiling of the shower as well. Combined with the barn door separating the bathroom from the rest of the container home, there is a nice feel and flow to the entire floor plan.

The kitchen features that same white paint as the living area on the all hardwood cabinetry. The real star of the kitchen, though, is the countertop. The classic, cutting board style is beautifully finished and works as a nice contrast to the touch screen cooktop that sits above it.

A stainless steel sink and full size refrigerator and freezer finish out the features in the kitchen. One of the dangers of building a small container home is that you could run into storage issues by trying to save space. Tex the Container Home has no such problems at all.

Instead, Kyle has chosen to save space in other ways. Things like a trash pullout and a combined microwave and hood with external venting help keep appliance real estate to a minimum. We love these little design ideas that go a long way towards keeping the whole container home spacious and functional.

This small, utilitarian looking container home has so much more than meets the eye. However, even from the outside it has a unique look. There is no doubt about what this tiny house is made from and that is one of the reasons we love it so much. By keeping the exterior raw and recycled looking, Kyle was able to use the element of surprise when it comes to the inside.

We at Container Home Hub are in love with this tiny container home! We definitely need make time to go visit since we love supporting fellow Texans at Container Home Hub! 🙂

So what do you think? Would you live here?
